Introduction to Thermal Resistant Fiberglass Laminates with Class H and Above (1/2)

Today let’s get to know the heat resistant fiberglass laminates with Class H and above. The thermal resistant laminates produced by ZTelec Group include EPGC308, SIGC202, DPOGC301, BMIGC301, polyimide boards, rigid mica sheets, synthetic stone and PAIGC301. Here I will give you an overview of the first four, and the others will be discussed in next article.

1. IEC EPGC308 /HGW2372.4

Description: IEC EPGC308 is made of electronic grade alkali-free fiberglass cloth impregnated with epoxy resin matrix by hot pressing technology. It conforms to standard IEC60893-3/GB/T 1303.4-2009. Color: yellowish-brown.

Temperature resistance: insulation grade H, temperature resistance 180℃.

Features: As an improvement on EPGC 203(NEMA G11), EPGC308 has good mechanical and electrical properties.

Applications: It is suitable for lithium-ion battery packaging, motor insulation, lapping carrier, circuit breaker in gas insulated switchgear, automobile covering parts in NEVs etc.

2. IEC SIGC202/ NEMA G7

Description: IEC SIGC202 is made of electronic grade alkali-free glass fiber cloth impregnated with silicone resin, then baked and cured by hot pressing technology. The color of G7 board offered by ZTelec Group is white or light green.

Temperature resistance: Insulation grade H, temperature resistance 180℃.

Features: It has good electrical properties and excellent heat and arc resistance. Additionally, G7 is self-extinguishing when burnt and works well in both wet and dry environments.

Applications: G7 is usually used as insulating structural parts such as washers, gaskets, and electrical barriers for various pipelines such as oil, natural gas, and water as well as motors and carburetors where strength and sealing properties are required.

3. IEC DPOGC301/Diphenyl ether board

Description: Diphenyl ether laminated board is made of electronic grade alkali-free glass fiber cloth impregnated with phenol-modified diphenyl ether resin, then baked and cured by hot pressing technology. The color is dark brown.

Temperature resistance: insulation grade H, temperature resistance 180℃.

Features: DPOG301 has excellent mechanical, dielectric, and radiation resistance.

Applications: It is widely used as electrical insulation structural parts such as air gap pillars, air gap blocks and phase spacers in motors and electrical equipment.

4. IEC BMIGC301/Bismaleimide sheet

Description: IEC BMIGC301 is made of alkali-free fiberglass cloth impregnated with bismaleimide resin, and then baked and cured by hot pressing technology. Thickness: 0.5~50mm, L2020mm*W1020mm. Color: brownish red.

Temperature resistance: Insulation grade H, temperature resistance 180℃.

Features: High mechanical and dielectric properties, good moisture resistance and processability.

Applications:

① Motor industry: applicable to the slot wedge insulation, liner insulation and inter-turn insulation in stator windings of motors such as automobile generators, three-phase asynchronous motors, electric car motors, etc.

② Electrical and electronic industry: used as phase insulation, liner insulation and inter-turn insulation in inverter, controller, and transformer, etc.

③ Wire and cable industry: applicable to inter-cable insulation, phase-to-phase insulation between cable and outer layer, and shielding etc.
